Terms
What you are buying, and what it is not
Plain terms for a digital book and, if you want it, an hour of my time. Nothing here is designed to catch you out.
What you get
The book, No One Lied to You, is a digital document delivered by email after payment. It is around thirty-three thousand words and it is yours to keep and to read on your own devices. The $450 option is the same book plus one hour with me going through a purchase you are considering or have already made.
What it is not
It is not a valuation, and it is not an appraisal. I do not tell you what your stone is worth, and anyone who gives you a figure without seeing the stone is not being straight with you. It is not a substitute for a laboratory report from a recognised lab. It is not financial or investment advice, and diamonds are not an investment product. What the book gives you is how the trade works out its prices, so you can check what you are being told.
Refunds
The book is refundable for fourteen days from purchase, whether you have opened it or not. Tell me within that time and I refund it. No explanation needed.
The hour is refundable up until the point I start going through your paperwork. Once I have begun that work, it is not.
To ask for a refund, write to faiz@nooneliedtoyou.com or use the Gumroad receipt you were sent.
Payment
Payment is taken by Gumroad, which acts as the seller of record for the transaction and handles any tax due on it. Prices are in US dollars. Your bank may charge you for the currency conversion; that is between you and them.
Copying it
The book is for you. Reading it, printing a copy for yourself, and quoting a line or two with attribution are all fine. Republishing it, reselling it, or passing the file around is not. The text and the illustrations are mine.
The free material
The closing essay and the field card are free and always will be. You can send them to anyone. Same rule as above: do not republish them as your own.
Getting it wrong
I have written the book as carefully as twenty-five years in the trade allows, but the diamond market moves and no book can cover every situation you will meet. The decisions you make about buying are yours. I am not liable for what a stone turns out to be worth, or for what a jeweller does after you have read this.
Where this is governed
These terms are governed by the law of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where I work. If you have a consumer right in your own country that this cannot take away, this does not take it away.
